Quick answer

What you need to know

Activate Guideposts as you explore. They are save and fast-travel destinations. After the Huther throne-room sequence awards the Golden Bell, Elliot can fast travel to activated Guideposts from anywhere.

Fast Travel Steps

  1. Interact with every Guidepost you encounter to register the destination.
  2. Progress the early Huther story until the throne-room scenes award the Golden Bell.
  3. Open the travel interface outside combat and choose an activated Guidepost.
  4. Use region and dungeon Guideposts to shorten collectible cleanup and return trips.

What the Golden Bell Changes

Before the Golden Bell, Guideposts still provide reliable checkpoints and local destinations. The key item removes the need to begin travel from another Guidepost and makes backtracking much faster.

Fast Travel Troubleshooting

  • A destination will not appear until its Guidepost has been activated.
  • If travel is unavailable, finish the current battle, scene or restricted story segment.
  • If you do not have the Golden Bell yet, continue the early main story in Huther.
